Begin Again

Not much to report from here. Just wanted to let everyone know that Johnny is getting around a little quicker with each passing day. He is feeling pretty good overall, and his energy level is definitely getting better.

Tomorrow at 9 a.m. he starts his chemo again. We have stocked up on all the recommended supplies and I feel we are as ready as we can be. I've worked this weekend on convincing him (nagging) to drink lots of fluid in anticipation of the expected side effect of diarrhea. Dehydration can come quickly and we really want to avoid that at all cost.

Staples are supposed to come out tomorrow. I'll probably take care of that after chemo. That is too much to put on him first thing in the morning.

If you happen to look at the clock at 9 a.m., just give a little shout out to the Good Man Upstairs. He'll be expecting your call.

  1. I am baaaackkkkk....did you miss me? I was prayin from the great West instead of freezin cold Indiana!
Glad to see that things are progressing and we are so hopeful for the chemo to start working right away. Speaking of that..is there a protocol in place for progress testing...like a CT or PET after 6 weeks or something??? If you've addressed that already, I'll look closer at your posts...if not, well??? is there?

On another note, please accept our sympathies for the loss of your friend "Big Mac" there was an article about him in the paper today. It breaks my heart, no matter the reason, that this young man couldn't see the beautiful things about him that seemed so plainly obvious to everyone else and now he's gone. May God look kindly upon his soul.

Okay Toad...no dehydration please. And Pammie, take it easy on the staples (you do seem awfully excited there)...also, did they mention that when the chemo causes diareaha, it usually causes some chemical flesh "burn" to add extra insult? Do you have a plan for that...just in case? We had "Riley butt cream" that we got from their pharmacy...it reminded me of Desitin. We would like to try to protect the integrity/original intended meaning of "butt-smokin'-hot" as much as possible here...if you get what I'm talking about....

Johnny, I promise you that when this whole thing is over and you are 100%, we will no longer be discussing your bunz or your bodily function in a public forum, but until then....it is all being done with love! :)

    We love you all-
Georgeann, Derek, Chad and Ryne Nolan
